Grade 3/4 students from Darebin Primary Schools, joined artists Georgina Humphries and Lindy de Wijn in a series of one hour creative workshop in preparation for The Darebin Community & Kite Festival 2016. Students worked with the artists in creating colourful kite artworks that would be exhibited as Bunting around the festival site. Participating schools included, Bell Primary, Reservoir East Primary, Croxton School, Northern School for Autism, Reservoir East Primary, Northcote Primary.
Students were encouraged to get inspired and explore colour, shapes and pattern during the in-school workshops. The resulting bunting was installed at Edwards Park Lake site for the festival in March. Participating children, their family and the general community were invited to discover and enjoy their artworks amongst the vibrate festival atmosphere.
